Ice cream cones: In 1904, during the St. Louis World's Fair, an ice cream vendor ran out of dishes to serve ice cream. He noticed a neighboring vendor selling waffles and rolled one into a cone shape to hold the ice cream, thus inventing the ice cream cone.
