Updated Feb. 13, 2025, 6:54 a.m. ET At least 20 people were injured when a driver rammed through a large demonstration in Munich on Thursday morning — one day before the German city was set to host a conference of world leaders including US Vice President JD Vance. The driver was identified as a 24-year-old Afghanistan national, a police spokesperson told reporters, according to Sky News. Police say the suspect drove a Mini Cooper into the crowd of people, leaving several injured, just after 10:30 a.m. Officials said they “secured” the driver, adding there was no further threat to the area.
