Five people shot at school in Sweden, police task force on-site

One of the school principals told the domestic press the situation at the school in Örebro remains a "crisis".
At least five people have been shot at a school in the central Swedish city of Örebro on Tuesday.
Four of those have been taken to hospitals in the nearby area, a statement from local authorities said.
“The reports of violence in Örebro are very serious. The police are on site and the operation is in full swing. The government is in close contact with the police, and is closely following developments,” Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer told Swedish news agency TT.
Swedish media reported that the local hospital had emptied its emergency room and intensive care unit to accommodate the incoming casualties. The ages of the victims and the extent of injuries sustained is currently not known.
Students are being sheltered in nearby buildings. Other parts of the school were evacuated following the violence. One of the school principals told the domestic press the situation at the school remains a "crisis".
The police have urged the public to stay away from the Västhaga area in Örebro or stay in their homes. They also confirmed that no police officers had been injured in the operation.
Local media reported that the Risbergska School was previously a high school converted into a municipal centre for educating adults over 20. Around 2,000 students attend the facility.
