PUBLISHED: 06:45 BST, 23 April 2025 Katie Holmes' surprise status with her ex Joshua Jackson has been revealed - 22 years after the pair also starred on the hit teen drama Dawson's Creek. The Doctor Odyssey actor, 46 - who recently revealed the most hated storyline in the 90s show - discussed where he currently stands with Holmes while on the Dinner's On Me podcast with host Jesse Tyler Ferguson on Tuesday. Jackson portrayed the character of Pacey Witter while Katie played Joey Potter in the series - and the pair also briefly dated early on when Dawson's Creek was airing. 'Katie and I are very close,' he said before adding that other costars Busy Phillips and Michelle Williams are also 'very, very close.' Joshua explained that the bond between the cast has still remained strong even though they might not communicate every day. 'It's not a daily call. Sometimes it's not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call,' the star expressed. 'But when you're together, A, there's always that, like, I know you know. And B, there is, you know, these moments... 'Like, these major moments in life are, like, other than your husband, there's probably no other people in your life that you are that forged to. Because you had to go through good and bad, and happy and "F*** you" and "Don't talk to me" and "I love you."' Joshua and Katie have both commented on their short-lived relationship and during a past interview with Rolling Stone in 1998, per Us Weekly, he expressed: 'I'm just going to say that I met somebody last year. 'I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always.' At the time, the actress also said of their split, 'I feel so fortunate because he's now one of my best friends. He's been in the business so long, and he's really helped me. I respect him as a friend and as a professional.' Dawson's Creek aired for six seasons from 1998 until 2003 - and also starred James Van Der Beek, Meredith Monroe, Mary-Margaret Humes and John Wesley Shipp. Last year in November, James revealed that he has stage three colon cancer - which he had been diagnosed with in 2023. During the podcast episode, Jackson also talked about how the cast have come together to offer support to Van Der Beek. 'James is going through something really truly terrible right now. And I wish I could take credit for this, but I was kind of the absentee partner here.' Joshua continued, 'But the girls all got together and were like, "We need to do something to help this guy out."'
