After travelling across the land of Pokemon, searching far and wide, in an episode aired in Japan on Friday, Ash became world champion for the first time.
The series has followed Ash Ketchum - the protagonist of the anime - in his destiny to become a Pokemon Master since 1997, when he met Pikachu on his tenth birthday.
