It's not exactly uncommon to see siblings playing on the same team, but it is special whenever that occasion occurs.
Towson University's Tarke brothers are an example of that, and as the Tigers head into the CAA Tournament this weekend, one of their childhood dreams could soon become a reality.
"We always wanted it...and not that it's here, it's more real than we ever could imagine," Mandela Tarke, one of the brothers said.
His big brother Nendah transferred in from Coppin State during the 2024 season, while younger brother, Mandela, walked on as a freshman.
"Deli's a lot more outspoken and extraverted. Nendah is as lowkey, and like he'll tell ya, you just gotta be easy," Head Coach Pat Skerry said.
Sharing the court with your brother, however, is not always easy.
"A lot of the tricks I got, he's on top of it...I don't like to guard him," Nendah admitted.
Nevertheless, it's that familiarity that makes it so special.
"It eases my nerves ten times more and I just feel like the game is more easy. Like when you have two people thinking the same thing, on the court it's very easy," Mandela told WJZ's Grace Grill.
