The biggest lake in the world: Lake Tanganyika

Lake Tanganyika, the word Tanganyika means, ‘the great lake spreading out like a plain’. It’s one of the African Great lakes with a surface area of 32,600 km2. It is the world’s freshwater lake that is counted to be 2nd largest by volume. This most extended, 2nd deepest, and 2nd oldest freshwater lake ultimately flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Swimming is not recommended in this lake because it originates with one of the Rift Valley lakes which have Nile crocodiles which is a threatening sign of life.
