The Van Gogh Museum Heist (2002): Two paintings by Vincent van Gogh, "View of the Sea at Scheveningen" and "Congregation Leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen," were stolen from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in December 2002. Despite extensive investigations and arrests, the stolen artworks have not been recovered, and the perpetrators remain unidentified.
