Chewing gum is banned in in Singapore since 1992. If someone has chewing gum, then they have to pay fine USD 100,000 or imprisoned for two years. They banned chewing gum because it is harmful for the environment. In 2004 the government gives some relaxation in law and chewing gum is only allowed on doctor prescribed.
