A place that feels like a magical wonderland is called Tromso.
Tromsø is a municipality in Norway and this place holds a special place in my heart. Tromso become independent Municipality on 1stJanuary 1838. This town is one of the most interesting and amazing places in the world that will leave you overwhelmed. Tromsø is a major cultural hub over the artic circle and it had nickname “ Getway to the artic”. A beautiful place that had so many things in it to captivate you. Tromsø is relatively expensive destination to visit so keep your budget high while visiting Norway and especially Tromso. The city of Tromso got its name by the Tromsoya Island on which it is located. The Tromso Bridge and the Tromsoysund tunnel contact Tromsoya Island to the mainland. tromso_bridge_connects_tromsoya_island_with_mainlandjpeg.jpeg The most amazing and interesting thing about Tromso is the polar night. The poler night starts from November 27th and lasts till 15th January. Sun doesn’t rise at all and making it a dark long night for months. This thing fascinated tourists a lot and the more you travel towards south you will see the sun rise and at the same time it is dark night in Tromso. This unique feature of polar night makes this place unique. Tromso is famous for being on of the best places from where you can see the magical and breathtaking Northern lights. These northern lights garb the attention of million of visitors everywhere. These northern lights will make you feel like you are in magic land. Tromsø had highest number of old wooden houses in northern Norway. The oldest house that we can find in Tromso is from 1789 and these houses are well built and still in use. The sight of wooden houses covered with snow in winter would be the best sight you can ever see. Well for me that give me old time medieval vibes. Tromso is largest urban area in the northern Norway. You would not believe that the winters of Tromso are not intensely cold despite of the fact that it is located in the north pole and a town where the sun don’t raise for 6 months. The average temperature of Tromso is recorded maximum -4oC that makes it easy for the tourists and locals to move and live there. Arctic–Alpine Botanic Garden is another beautiful place to explore.
